Approach
A controlled, execution-driven model for the work that cannot fail.
Hastings is purpose-built for high-complexity, high-value, low-volume programs — critical situations where precision, reliability, and judgment outweigh scale.
Principles
Four commitments that shape every engagement.
Principle I
Selective by design
We engage on a limited number of programs each year. This is what allows senior attention on every mandate and a refusal to compromise on execution.
Principle II
Own the ground
Hastings is not a coordinator at distance. Our team is in the factory, walking the line, sitting with engineers, owning the outcome.
Principle III
Engineering judgement
Sourcing decisions are technical decisions. Our team has the engineering depth to read drawings, challenge process choices, and validate suppliers on the merits.
Principle IV
Confidentiality first
We work on sensitive programs and treat them accordingly: tight perimeters, controlled supplier access, and disciplined IP handling throughout.
Engagement model
From scope to delivery, a single accountable team.
01
Scope
We start with a structured discovery: program objectives, technical envelope, IP constraints, and timing. We say no when we cannot help.
02
Map
We map the supplier landscape, identify viable partners, and define the qualification criteria the program will be measured against.
03
Qualify
On-site audits, sample builds, and engineering validation. We close the gap between candidate suppliers and a production-ready partner.
04
Execute
Embedded oversight from NPI through ramp. Daily presence in the factory, weekly engineering reviews, monthly program-level reporting.
05
Deliver
Quality, packaging, freight, customs. We close the loop from build floor to your dock and stay engaged through field performance.
Where we fit
- — Consumer electronics, robotics, advanced manufacturing
- — Programs with precision, IP, and confidentiality demands
- — Low-volume, high-value builds where execution determines outcome
- — Companies entering or restructuring China operations
Where we do not
- — Commoditized, large-scale mass production
- — Pure brokerage or trading mandates
- — Programs without a clear technical owner on the client side
- — Engagements that do not warrant senior attention
